The Uplifters is a duo that consist of vocalists Egbert Dennis and Marcel Williams. They have backed artists such as Herbert Lee (of the Tenors) and Leroy Sibbles. Sibbles also had them as back-up singers on one of his tours. After having released some singles in Jamaica and Canada their debut album, »We Are Moving«, was released and produced by King Culture with some productions also by Egbert Dennis. The groups name was credited as The Uplifter on this release. The album was reissued on CD in 2007 with the new title »Strength & Power« (the 12" name of the song »Jah Jah Give I Strength« on the original vinyl issue).
