Originally a Jamaica based deejay, Stamma Rank worked with the sounds Taurus International for two years with Ranking Courage and the operator Funny Dread. He moved to Canada in 1979 where he started to deejay with Leroy Sibbles Sound System Papa Melody. When hearing from a friend that King Culture was interested in producing new artists, Stamma brought him a tape with some of his deejay work and it resulted in two discos being released very short after. The discos were »Funky In A Rub-a-dub Style« and »Round The World«. One of Stammas greater hits is the 45 »Taurus Special« on the Cuss Cuss rhythm, also for King Culture. It was released in both New York and Jamaica. He has also worked with Gemini records in Toronto.
Stamma Rank featured on an album with Barry Brown released on the King Culture label in 1986, »More Vibes Of Barry Brown Along With Stama Rank«.
