Samuel The First was part of the trio that worked the El Paso Sound System in the late sixties. Led by Dennis Alcapone, then Lizzie, followed by Samuel The First.

It seems that Leslie Kong wanted to get in on the emerging DJ thing, and thus was the first person to record Samuel, on Sounds Of Babylon, a version of the Melodians hit Rivers Of Babylon.
