Ghettotone

Ghettotone were a short lived early 80's (circa '83) Sound System from Lewisham, S.E London.

It was operated by Caesar and Victor, their main MC was Lesley Lyrics. Though short lived they were a well respected sound not least because Al Campbell and Lui Lepki joined them on the mic at one of their dance. Due to their being in the same area as Saxon there was always a rivalry between the two sounds.

 

They are perhaps best remembered for their clash with Saxon on 21 October 1983 in Lewisham with it's MC battle between Papa Levi of Saxon and Lesley Lyrics.
