History
Cuss Cuss is a Reggae riddim, it was originally recorded at Studio One by producer Harry J for a vocal of the same name by Lloyd Robinbson circa 1969.
Cuss Cuss is a Jamaican patois term, it is an adaption of the English term Cuss (meaning to swear at).
Versions
Alongside the original vocal a horns piece was released by Harry J called Soul Scorcher by King Cannon (Carl Bryan). Lloyd Robinson later recut the song for Coxsone Dodd at Studio One and for Junjo Volcano label, in 1982. In 1998 Bobby Konders from Massive B updated and recut the version to great effect which spawned several new versions of the rhythm. In total there have been over 100 versions of the rhythm to date.
