Baron Turbo Charged was a Sound System from Hulme, Manchester. They were started in 1974 by Barzy (Operator) and his friend Wizzy Dan as the selector. Prior to taking the name Turbo charged they had been called Baron Hifi.

Starting off on a small scale playing house parties the sounds reputation grew and lead to a residency that lasted for around ten years at Moss Side Youth Club. Baron were one of the first UK sounds to run with transistor amplifiers (in the late 70's) instead of the traditional valve ones, they took the Hifi because of this as they were well known for having a very good quality sound.

Baron carried on through the 80's and into the mid 90's.
